Why Sheryl Hamilton?

Registered Massage Therapist

Sheryl Hamilton is a registered massage therapist who has been in practice for 15 years, since graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1997. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia with a major in Biochemistry. She practices at Heidi’s Massage Therapy Clinic in Vernon, BC.

Professional education since becoming an RMT includes a year of training in osteopathy from the Canadian College of Osteopathy, Visceral Manipulation I and II, Craniosacral Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique, and ThetaHealing Basic and Advanced. She also has an interest in Shiatsu and other energy modalities.

As well as practicing as an RMT, Sheryl is an instructor at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon, BC teaching courses in Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Neurology, and Business, and supervising an Assessment Outreach student clinic. She is also an Access Consciousness Bars facilitator, and teaches Bars workshops frequently in the Vernon area.

When you come for a professional visit with Sheryl, please do not expect to receive a relaxation massage. Sheryl is a treatment-oriented therapist, with a strong focus on chronic pain, pre-natal care, and postural alignment. Sheryl’s favorite thing to do is to treat clients with long-standing pain, find the cause, and change it. She loves giving her clients freedom from pain so that they can participate fully in all areas of their lives. She often hears from her clients that they had given up on ever being able to heal, and thought that they must simply learn to live with the pain in their bodies until receiving treatment. Sheryl is passionate about providing her clients with relief from pain.

Other benefits that clients receive from Sheryl’s treatments besides increased comfort in their bodies are improved sleep, digestion, energy levels, flexibility, and athletic performance.
